About the Materials and Manufacturing Academy

The Materials and Manufacturing Academy (M2A) provides funding for industry focused Engineering Doctorates (EngDs) and Research Masters (MScs). Each research project has an industry partner who provides funds, supervision and the main research problem. It allows individuals to study for a postgraduate qualification whilst gaining experience of industry, and is a fantastic vehicle for companies to engage with the University and to conduct collaborative research. The M2A uses £15million of funds from industry, WEFO, and EPSRC to support the research and training of 150 people over the next 5 years and is working with 45 companies on a range of materials & manufacturing issues.
